15 april 2013. Oleg Babinov

De lezing zal in het Engels worden gehouden.

At the recent World Economic Forum in Davos, a straw poll of about 450 delegates decided that better governance is Russia's greatest challenge for improvement of the business and investment climate.  During the WEF Russia presentation, Anatoly Chubais, a famous market reformer and one of the senior presenters for the country, pointed out  that corruption, weak protection of private property and lack of independent courts are still major problems in Russia.  It is now commonly understood that these factors are the main brakes on Russia's economic growth which is slowing down despite the country's healthy macroeconomic situation, low government debt and budget surplus.

Oleg Babinov, head of Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia practice at Risk Advisory - a leading independent global risk management consultancy, will share his insights on the Russian investment climate, describe his views on the risks of investing in the country and on risk mitigation strategies.

Oleg advises corporations on the assessment, reduction and mitigation of risk associated with investment in the former Soviet Union countries and in Eastern Europe. He has significant experience in advising financial services clients on acquisitions, due diligence, crisis and conflict resolution, in which the legal and justice systems often do not facilitate easy solutions.
