The Russian Federation – the Netherlands: new investment opportunities
Head of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in The Netherlands, mr. A.N. Cherevko, will inform you this evening more detailed about the Dutch – Russian investment cooperation and the new opportunities.
The Netherlands investments in Russia have increased since 2002 by 10 times. The most part of these investments made by the Dutch big companies. However there is a space for projects realization of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Russia. In order to promote Dutch – Russian investment cooperation the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin during the meeting with his counterpart – the Prime Minister of the Netherlands M. Rutte – in Moscow on 20-21 October 2011 suggested considering setting up a joint guarantee mechanism to support the Dutch investments into Russia and Russian investments in the Netherlands. Mr. Rutte supported this idea. At present the Russian Vnesheconombank and his daughter companyRussian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) started consultations with the Dutch public and finance institutions to create such a mechanism.
It is assumed that this mechanism will be put into operation at the end of 2012 year on the threshold of the bilateral year of 2013 – the year of the Netherlands in the Russian Federation and the year of the Russian Federation in the Netherlands.
